These chassis are designed to allow you to - not only fit any Simracing peripheral such as steeringwheels, shifter, or pedals controls etc, but also fit those controls in exactly the same position and orientation as your real car controls or to your own preference. Those controls will also feel as solid and reliable as those in the real world because the basic chassis is designed to be very strong and stiff. Every part of the chassis is many times stronger than it needs to be to give a solid realistic feeling which adds greatly to emersion with the on-screen and audio driving environment. There are two NIXIM Racecraft Simracing chassis, the Racecraft Polecat and the Racecraft GT. Both can be bought initially as a basic seat and chassis or even just the chassis, you can specify a fully customized Racecraft to match your individual taste or requirements. Both models are suitable for the gamer, simracer, or professional race driver and is a valuable training aid for driver reflex, track setup and familiarity, and also to aid muscle training. The strength and build quality of the chassis gives us the confidence to offer a permanent full lifetime guarantee (does not include seating), there is no better open frame chassis available today, it is adaptable for any situation whether for the casual gamer, professional race driver, or even arcade use. If you have a special or unusual requirement, then we can most likely offer a custom chassis for you. The only difference between the two models is that the Racecraft GT has two rear speaker stacks to accommodate the two rear satellite speakers on a surround sound system. The length of the Racecraft Polecat chassis is 1.430Mtrs (4ft 8") long, compared to the GT's 1.775Mtr (5Ft 10"), you will require a 1.8Mtr (6Ft) long space in which to use them. This is because even though the Polecat can be stored in shorter space, the seat will need to be in the same position in the chassis for a normal adult meaning the the GT and Polecat require the same footprint space in usage, that is because of the rear seat overhang with the Polecat. Both basic models are 58CM (23") wide. Both models are made from 40mm steel box tubing of various wall thickness. All pipe ends are capped with steel plate (not plastic) which is fully welded in place, the welds are ground smooth to leave a craftmans finish. Every single metal part that goes into building the chassis, mounts, or fittings is shotblasted prior to being primed, then a heavy powder coating is baked on to give an attractive tough durable finish. All fixings such as nuts and bolts are Zinc plated. There are no plastic fittings anywhere on the Racecraft chassis. The wheel mount and all other mounting surfaces are made from a heavy tough composite which has a carbon fibre effect finish, this compositre is so dense and tough it can be drilled and tapped if required. There are two types of pedal block mount for optimum foot and leg ergonomics. For budget pedal sets we would recommend the Standard pedal mount, for high end pedal controls you would probably require the Universal mount. We can help you select the correct mount for your pedal controls, please specify which type you require when ordering your chassis. Not only is the NIXIM Racecraft the most complete chassis available with far more optional extra fittings than any other manufacturer. it has an almost infinate adustability for the widest range of driver age and size. The chassis can be adjusted to fit from a small child right up to a 2.0Mtr (6ft 6") adult in total comfort. Every control surface can be placed exactly where it is required to ensure maximum ergonomic efficiency. The wheelmount is adjustable for reach angle and height. The pedal mounts are adjustable for reach angle and height except for the standard mount which is adjustable for reach and height. The seat has a tilt facility and is adjustable up to 400mm (16") within the chassis for leg length. You can order You chassis with a recliner seat for more comfort. And with the shifter mount also being fully adjustable, you can guarantee that you will find the best most comfortable position for every control. The chassis rails on both models are in one single length and cannot be collapsed for storage or shipping, - as you can see here they can be collapsed into a very small space indeed, but the main lower chassis section is still a one piece item. This does mean that shipping from the UK can be quite expensive to some parts of the world, but we feel that a joint in the centre of the chassis will detract from the appearance and especially the driving feel of the chassis, we think you will agree - everytime you drive. This design also means that the driver is suspended from the floor, there are several advantages to this, for example - There is ample room and an easy fitting area for any type of tactile speaker system exactly where it is best utilised, that is - directly under the seat. This means the driver will feel more from those vibrations with less power - and also less sound will be transmitted into the surrounding building - meaning less disturbance to other people. There is also a certain "live" feel to the Racecraft as the chassis responds slightly to Force Feedback effects transmitted from the steering wheel through the drivers body and on into the seat and chassis This effect is slightly more pronounced with the Racecraft GT with its longer chassis length. Colours The standard colour of the Racecraft is a Red/Dark grey combination, other colour or colour combinations are available, please enquire if you have a specific requirement. There is likely to be a surcharge for this service. Bonnet Motif You can select a Bonnet Motif from here, these motif's are called "Bib" Motifs and are free with your Racecraft purchase. There is a panel to each side of the Motif where the drivers name can be printed if you wish. We can remove this name panel if prefered. We can also supply a Full bonnet template for you to design your own bonnet livery, this template covers the entire bonnet area. There is a charge for this but you get your own personal or corporate design and we apply it for you. Heavy Duty Caster Wheels Fitting wheels will raise the chassis by 150mm which elevates the seat height to approximately the height of a real car seat. This in turn makes getting into and out of the cockpit a much easier movement - not that the standard chassisis at all difficult to get into. Of course being mobile helps when having to move the chassis for storage or cleaning purposes. Although the wheels can be fitted at a later date, this can only be done to a Racecraft chassis that has already been prepared for this. Wheels cannot be fitted unless the chassis has already been specified with the wheel bosses welded in place. If you require the option of fitting wheels at a later date then specify your chassis with wheel bosses welded in place (£32.00), your chassis will then be supplied with rubber foot pads which can be removed from the bosses to fit the wheels. Shifter Mount To have the feel and reliability of shifting gears in a real car it is important to have the solid feel you get with a real car. You may have the best most solidly engineered shifter available, but its feel will be compromised if your desk or mount is not a solid and secure mounting point. Not only is the Racecraft shifter mount very solid and secure, it is also fully steplessly adjustable for height reach and even lateral positioning. So you should be able to exactly match the the actual position of your real car shifter in relation to your seat wheel and pedals. The shifter can be fitted to either left or right of the seat. The whole shifter unit will pivot upwards to allow easy access to the cockpit, then you simply drop it back to its operating position when you are ready to drive. This is particularly useful if the chassis has access from one side only. Note: You will require a Head bracket to fit the shifter mount to the chassis, there are several different types depending on your requirements. Keyboard Mouseholder Although designed purely for racing there are times when you need to use a keyboard whilst sitting in the Racecraft cockpit, whether racing or working the internet or just day to day keyboard work, even normal simracing requires some vital keyboard work, Therefore keyboard and mouse placement are very important where in-race usage is required, so we placed the K/Mholder just to the side of your screen. The design allows the keyboard tray to be at aiether sied of the screen and can be rotated in two planes for optimum ergonomic positioning. The tray is inlaid with a carbon fibre effect liner, - a perfect surface for a PC mouse to work on - we recommend a trackball but a normal mouse is fine. Some drivers simply use the mouse in the space on the dashboard beside the steering wheel. The keyboard arm assembly can be pivoted outwards to allow easy access to the cockpit. There is also a hook for you to hang your headset out of the way when not in use, - keeping it safe tidy and easy to find when required. Note: You will require a Head bracket to fit the K/Mholder to the chassis, there are several different types depending on your requirements. Flat Screen Mount The standard flatscreen mount will provide a secure mounting for almost any TV or PC monitor of up to around 42", - even larger in most cases. If you are attempting to mimic your monitor screen as a car winsdcreen, then a 37- 42" screen will give the best most realistic perspective. Your eyes will be approximatly 0.9mtrs or 36" from the screen. In some cases we can make a custom mount to suit your particular screen fittings but in almost all cases this is not required, the Racecraft chassis and screen mount will cope with any screen that can be fitted and can easily handle the weight of the heaviest of screens. Fitting your screen will mean that you will need to drill holes in the screen mount horizontal fixing bars to match your screen specifications. If you can supply the screen mounting dimensions to us we will drill the mounting holes making assembly a little easier for you for you. The screen mount is securely fitted to the Racecraft chassis, most screens will be adjustable for height - particularly smaller ones. Triple Head Screen Mount With a triple head adaptor kit, the normal single flat screen mount can also be used to hold three monitors securely in place, this is a custom fitting as there are many different types and sizes of screen that you may wish to use. Let us know your screen make and model and we can usually design a custom fitting. Fitting a triple head screen mount will mean that we also have to modify your front satelite speaker mounts (if fitted). Centre Speaker Mount The Centre Speaker Mount is an option that can only be used with the screen Flatscreen mount, because it is designed to fit at the top of the Flatscreen mount. This provides a perfect placing for the centre speaker and also any other device such as a Track IR head movement sensor for example. The mount is adjustable for height and angle for optimum performance. Front Satellite Speaker Mount If you have a stereo or surround sound system, then you may require a suitable place to mount your front satellite speakers. The mounts are ideal for this and are a perfect match for the rear speaker mounts on the Racecraft GT. The mounts are normally supplied to fit a screen cabinet of up to 600mm (24") wide (note - this is the actual monitor cabinet width - not the screen size), - if you have a larger screen than this then we need to make a custom mount to fit your screen, or whatever size you wish - there is no extra charge for this service.Simply tell us how wide your cabinet is and we will make a mount to fit your screen perfectly. G25 G27 Progressive Brake Mod A quick easy cheap and simple to fit modification for the Logitech G25/G27 brake pedal. Its effect is to give a realistic progressive brake resistance as the brake pedal is depressed, making the use of your sim brake as intuitive to use as your real car. No more guessing when where or how hard you press the brake and brake as late as possible with confidence, you'll wonder how you managed without it. |
